The SIP H.323 Working Group was confirmed at the 19th APAN Meeting, in Bangkok in January 2005. The Group aims to promote and develop the use of the SIP and H.323 protocols for voice, video and any other applications that emerge, within member organisations. Other goals include, but are not limited to the organisation of workshops, and the facilitation of peering voice and video networks internationally. It is hoped that members of this group will be able to share their experiences, and provide advice to other members for mutual benefit. These experiences will ultimately be turned into a set of "how to" documents that are avaiable to assist members.
The group will develop a way to co-ordinate the sharing of expensive hardware resources, such as multimedia conference units (MCU's).
Participation in the working group is open to any APAN member. In addion, the group aims to foster communication with other similar groups in the internation Research & Education sector.
Members are encouraged to join the mailing list. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to send them to the [ apan-sip@voip.edu.tw ]
